1. Who we are

MoveGuide is a trading name of Surged Ltd, a private limited company registered in England & Wales (Company No. 16318773). Registered office: 3rd Floor, 86-90 Paul Street, London, EC2A 4NE. We operate a comparison service that matches movers with regulated conveyancing firms. We act as the data controller for personal data you provide through MoveGuide. 2. The data we collect

We only collect what we need to generate your quotes and run the service:

We do not ask for or store special category data, and we never sell your personal data to third parties.

3. How we use it & our legal basis

We use your data to match you with regulated firms, return fixed-fee quotes, improve the service, and meet our legal obligations. Our lawful bases are consent (when you ask us to share your details with firms), legitimate interests (running and improving the comparison service) and legal obligation (record-keeping and fraud prevention). You can withdraw consent at any time.

4. Who we share it with

When you request quotes, we share your move and contact details with the SRA-regulated solicitors and licensed conveyancers matched to your request, so they can quote and, if you choose, act for you. We also use trusted processors for hosting, analytics and email delivery, all bound by data-processing agreements. We do not transfer your data outside the UK or EEA without appropriate safeguards in place.

5. Cookies

We use essential cookies to make the site work and, with your consent, analytics cookies to understand how it's used so we can improve it. You can manage your preferences in your browser settings or our cookie banner at any time. Blocking essential cookies may affect how the service functions.

6. How long we keep it

We keep your data only as long as needed for the purposes above, typically up to 24 months after your last interaction, unless we're required to keep it longer for legal or accounting reasons. After that it's securely deleted or anonymised.

7. Your rights

Under UK data protection law you have the right to access, correct, delete or restrict your data, to object to processing, and to data portability. To exercise any of these, email us and we'll respond within one month. You also have the right to complain to the ICO at ico.org.uk.

8. Using MoveGuide

You must be at least 18 and provide accurate information. You agree to use the service only for genuine quote requests, not to misuse it, attempt to disrupt it, or copy or scrape its content. The MoveGuide name, branding and site content are owned by Surged Ltd and protected by intellectual property law.

9. What our service is, and isn't

MoveGuide is an introducer and comparison service. We are not a law firm and do not provide legal advice or conveyancing ourselves. We connect you with independent, regulated firms who do. Any contract for legal services is between you and the firm you instruct, not MoveGuide.

10. Quotes & firms

Quotes are provided by the firms themselves and are fixed at the point of instruction, based on the information you give. They may change if your circumstances differ from what you told us. While we vet every firm on our panel for regulation, price and service, we don't guarantee the outcome of any transaction. Choosing a firm is your decision, and comparing quotes is free with no obligation.

11. Liability

We provide the service with reasonable care but "as is", and we're not liable for the acts, omissions or service quality of the firms you instruct. Nothing in these terms limits liability for death or personal injury caused by negligence, fraud, or anything that can't be excluded by law. Subject to that, our total liability to you is limited to £100.

12. Changes & governing law

We may update these terms or this notice from time to time; the current version always lives on this page with the date shown above. These terms are a contract between you and Surged Ltd (trading as MoveGuide). They are governed by the laws of England & Wales, and disputes are subject to the exclusive jurisdiction of its courts.
